The best part about this meal is it is all wild, fresh, and almost free. Early in the morning, I drove to a river, where crawdads are easily found on the banks and shallow water, and dropped a trap with a tunafish can with a poked hole in it. (They are attracted to the scent, entering the trap, and unable to escape.) While these traps are in the water, I contacted a local farmer and asked if corn and potatoes were in season.
